Greater Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers Mutual Aid Facebook Group

In response Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s order for all restaurants and bars to cease all dine-in service in Allegheny County, the Greater Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers Mutual Aid Facebook group was created on March 16, 2020 to be a space for those who suddenly found themselves our of jobs and sources of income. The idea of this worker-run online forum was for members to share resources, reach out to one another for immediate mutual aid, and even share words of support to one another. Since its inception, it has a membership of over 3,000.

Besides being an online space for restaurant workers in the Pittsburgh region to access our request for aid forms, information about our programming and events, it also is a space for workers to offer their own time and words of support others in need.
