Our Distribution Center is supported by in kind donations of grocery items, and through collaborations with local resources such as 412 Food Rescue, the Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank, and Hungry Hippo’s Pet Food Pantry. Our program is distinguished by our network of volunteer drivers, who are able to deliver groceries, baby necessities, household items, and pet food.
We are currently delivering to 150+ households weekly, and we hope to add additional programming opportunities to help our restaurant community.
Ways to Support our Restaurant Community
Donate to our Emergency Fund
Restaurant workers in southwestern Pennsylvania lost their main source of income. We stand with restaurant workers by raising money to help provide financial assistance during the COVID-19 crisis.
Through our Emergency Fund, we have raised over $60,000 with the support from our community and a generous donation from the Pittsburgh Foundation. We currently have a long wait list so continue to donate if you are able.
Volunteer to Help Restaurant Families
Our Distribution Center is completely driven through support of our volunteer network. Since March 16th, hundreds of volunteers have signed up to deliver care packages, baby items, pet care necessities, household items to folks in the Greater Pittsburgh area and surrounding counties.
Currently, we are assisting 100 families each week through our Distribution Center. Help our efforts by signing up for a shift!
Provide Donation Items
All of the care packages created are assembled with donations from the community and local organizations. Donations can be dropped off at our warehouse located in Point Breeze (6091 Lynn Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15208). Please call us at (412) 376 – 7327 when you arrive so a volunteer can assist you.
PRWA is always in need of leafy greens, children snacks, paper towels, milk, dairy products, snack items, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper.
